Just found a web site that will help all we our eating habits, dieting and overall nutrition for our familes. It is called: www.myfitnesspal.com. This is a free web site that will never ask for your credit card and has all kinds of resources you need to maintain a great body. The best thing I saw was the free calorie counter”>free calorie counter! This handy tool allows you to enter the type of exercise your performed from their extensive list of common and some rare exercises. I clicked on “W” and found water polo, white water rafting along with walking. But they go further and include, walking up hill downhill, two miles, three miles etc.

Another resource they have allows you find the content of common foods. I put in french fries and a list of 10 different types appeared to choose from. It included McDonalds, Frozen fries, shake and bake etc. Then in the window next to it you find the “calories in my food” itemized list, including total calories, fat and total carbs. If you join, which is all of your email and password which is never sold or rented, then you can keep track of your exercies meals etc. There are Google ads, but they are put in a nice to read and not where you can accidentally click on them.

Overall, this is a very professional web site which will help us make better food choices and lose weight the healthy way.

I wanted to share with all my educators that trying to find great books for kids is still challenge even with the advent of Amazon. You can get a variety of views like mine, however there are so many choices and it becomes dizzying and suspect.

We are half was through Seven American Stories and the boys are loving it. I doubt many girls would like it by the way. What I found was adventure, history and intrigue. My boys have put themsleves in the place of 1810-1840’s pioneers, farmers, kids and husbands. They are well written by keeping my kids at the edge of their seat such as what will happen with the Native American visitor at the farm while a battle rises in the other direction? The pictures are very nice and describe well what is happening. Finally, the morals behind the stories are up to date with our times as well.

Have fun!!

One of my favorite movies growing up, the Gremlins! We even named our dog after one of the characters, the sweet little pre-gremlin, Gizmo! He was such a cute puppy, one of those popped eyed little pups. Do you remember the part in the movie when the elderly lady rides up the stairs in the chairlift, I was so amazed as a child! I secretly wanted one in our house, what fun to have your own lift! (if only we had a two-story house) haha.

Do stair chairlifts really exist? You bet! there is a company called Value Stairlifts stair lift that sells these amazing devices. I know in the movie as a child it was more of a wonderment, but now as an adult I could see where one might really be useful, more than useful a necessity if you have a home that you love and wish to remain in. It would allow someone who is disabled in one way or another to still live in their multi-level home and enjoy every part of it. DId you know you can even buy a stairlift for an outdoor stairs, or curved stairs, and they even sell reconditioned stairs that might help with a fixed budget.

Hey guys I just found a great site. All of us love free samples be it from the grocery store etc. Try the following link:
Free Samples and Savings
What I found: printable coupons for wal mart, home depot Dell and Marriot. I also found a community site where other great interet surfers have found great products like Niva, Wrigley Gum and dove products. My family likes to keep in our happy little habits at the grocery store without reaching out too much, like shopping out the box. I can try out the some of these name brand products either free or at a serious dicount all at one place: www.mysavings.com

Under free samples, you can click on mulitple categories like baby, automotive, health, cooking, clothing and home and garden. Give it try. I was very fun and what I like are the user comments so I know if I should be wasting my time with a particular product.

This is a His and Hers blog, so be prepared to read a wide range of rambles…

First from Her…

As a homeschool mom Spring brings on a whole new set of challenges, how to stay motivated?! And I am not referring to the kiddos! The workbooks are only half used, but how can we keep going when the sunshine is so nice? The best solution: shake things up a bit…her are 10 quick shakers:

1. Add Monday-Fundays (most Fridays are fundays for a lot of homeschoolers, switch this to Mondays)

2. Set up an obstacle course to get energized

3. Start a new family chapter book, let go of the one you have been trying to finish and has been dragging on

4. Start watching your way through an old TV family series, we are just about ready to wrap up the first year of Little House on the Praire

5. Start schooling outside

6. Take on a unit study

7. Start planning a vacation together as a family, could be a weekend road trip for the Summer

8. Concentrate on an area of study, such as Journaling

9. Switch up your family schedule

10. Plan weekly field trips for the rest of the year

But most of all hug your little ones everyday and enjoy each other

We just purchased my three young kids their first MP3 player, although they call it an iPod. Great branding by Apple! So they were asking me to put some music on their players so that they could listen to their new devices. I had forgotten that we had a CD from vacation bible school from the summer, and loaded some of those onto their MP3 players. I think they got more enjoyment out of those songs than those from Hilary Duff.

In the world of iPods and MP3 players wouldn’t it be nice to have some inspirational music to listen too. You can now get MP3 downloads, where you can even use PayPal to pay for the tunes at GET a FREE Download and Discover This brand new site just launched and caters to those looking for alternative to main stream audio with an inspirational appeal. Check them out today, as the season for giving and sharing is here.
